Genomnia was established in Milan in October 2008 as an autonomous enterprise, having a minority partnership with AB MEDICA, focused on building and making the most of strong and solid knowhow in the main fields of genomics.
In 2011 Genomnia became one of the first Italian ISO 9001 certified SME for projection and delivery of Massive Sequencing Services for nucleic acids and Bioinformatic analysis by exploiting High– Throughput (SOLID 5500Xl, ION Torrent) sequencing technology.Through active participation in both Italian and international projects, Genomnia has developed and validated analytical models and proprietary algorithms that have enabled the company to achieve high standards of consistency and strong analytical reproducibility. Our team includes highly experienced professionals in the fields of Neurobiology, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics.
Corporate skills cover the production of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data and the fieldof Bioinformatic analysis applied to biomedicine projects with special focus on DNA and RNAapplications.

Moreno Colaiacovo got his M.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics in 2008 from the University of Milan-Bicocca, with a thesis on the prediction of gene regulatory networks. From 2009 to 2013 he works at the CRA-GPG Genomics Centre in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, where he studies gene regulation mediated by plant microRNAs. In the context of an international research project, he is involved in the sequencing of the bread wheat genome, which was published in Science in July 2014. In February 2013, he obtains his PhD in Complex Systems in Medicine and Life Sciences from the University of Turin. In September 2013 he joins the bioinformatics team of Genomnia srl, where he performs computational analyses of genomics and transcriptomics data. He loves science communication and writes articles for websites and magazines
